The 1st “Vanessa & Friends”… #cyclewithness
On Saturday I hosted my very first “Vanessa & Friends” brought to you by Cycle Lab, Cycle Lab Tours & KTM. I worked on putting this together with such an amazing team and I enjoyed it every step of the way!
We decided on keeping the inaugural ride simple and fairly easy going, so we cycled to Woodbridge Island (Milnerton) on the cycle path which is not only fun and easy but also safe! It was only about 20km in total but for the beginner’s it was perfect and for the crazies training for the ABSA Cape Epic, it was the perfect warm up before our longer ride which continued after we got back to Cycle Lab in town.
I had some of my amazing friends (Lexi, Craig, Zee, Tyrone, Vicky and Riaan) there, and made some more super friends! Craig (Kolesky) was, it goes without saying, our “resident” photographer for the day, so we have him to thank for the great pics!
Future Life and La Cuccina provided us with yummy food, so my riders were all well fed by the time we left for our ride. May I add that the Cycle Lab coffee machine makes FANTASTIC hot chocolates and cappuccinos! And the lovely Red Bull Wiiings team were there to greet us with ice cold Red Bull’s when we finished – I was well energized for the second part of my day which involved another 100km ride!
Mesoestetic gave a luxurious skin care hamper away and the Cape Union Mart group gave away a couple of vouchers to the “friends of Vanessa”! 😉
A huge thank you to all those who joined in for the fun social ride; to the great food & prize sponsors; Mesoestetic, Cape Union Mart, Future Life, La Cuccina & Red Bull, to my partners Craft, Cycle Tours & Oakley and to my dream givers Cycle Lab and KTM; my manager, David Brooke, from ProSport International was a star with all the planning, and without him, Eulogy and Maritza from Cycle Tours, and Steve and Nicole from Cycle Lab Cape Town, I would not have been able to put this all together! Thank you so much guys!
I’ll be hosting a few more of these fun social rides this year and mixing it up with different routes – both road and mountain biking! I look forward to seeing you all at the next one!
